Chapter 4 – Asset Maintenance

Cost Allocation Posting Project/Department allows you to split the costs into a few departments or a few projects on a sharing basis.

For example, if department A and department B share a photocopier, the cost can be allocated equally between these two departments.

Please note that you can only select one of these categories. Within each department/project, you can have a few departments or a few projects sharing the cost, but the total posting rate must be 100%.

Option 1: Cost Allocation By Department

Department: Select the department to share the costing.

Posting Rate(%): Define the percentage of the posting rate.

Depreciation Acct Code: Specify the account code.

Acct Name: The name of the account code.

Option 2: Cost Allocation By Project

Project: Select the project to share the costing.

Posting Rate(%): Define the percentage of the posting rate.

Depreciation Acct Code: Specify the account code.

Acct Name: The name of the account code.
